Is Sleister Music opening a store in Waukee?
Yes! Sleister Music is opening a Waukee "Access" location inside Kyle's Bikes at 100 SE Laurel St, Waukee, IA 50263.
This location makes it easier for families in Waukee, ADM, Van Meter, Dallas Center-Grimes, and surrounding communities to access instrument rentals, repairs, and band supplies closer to home. You'll still receive the same service, rental programs, and support that Sleister Music customers have come to expect.
What services are available at the Waukee location?

Our goal is to make it easy for students to get started in band and stay successful with a quality, functional instrument.
What services are not offered at this location?
You’ll need to visit Sleister Music’s main location in Ankeny for pro horn and case purchases. All our repairs and administrative work are still handled in Ankeny, as well. However, repairs are taken to and from our Waukee site daily!
If you have an quick turnaround "fix while you wait" repair, your best bet is to contact and plan to make a trip to our Ankeny headquarters location!
Where is Sleister Music Waukee located?
Beginning on Tuesday June 2nd 2026, Sleister Music staff will be available at the Waukee location Tuesday through Friday from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. We look forward to seeing our West Metro directors, parents, and student clients there!
Kyle's Bikes is open:
Monday–Friday: 10:00 AM–6:00 PM
Saturday: 10:00 AM–5:00 PM
Outside of Sleister-staffed hours, Kyle's Bikes team members, starting in August 2026, will be prepared to assist with basic questions, do rental pickups, intakes, repair signups, and rental returns during all of Kyle's Bikes hours. They will also have a line direct to our Ankeny location for any questions needing escalation. As of June 2026, our recommendation is to plan your visit to our Waukee Access location during the Tuesday to Friday 2 - 6 PM range. These hours will be kept up to date on Google and Apple Maps!
As our Access Partnership with Kyle's Bikes gets more built out, we expect service availability to increase.
Why did Sleister Music choose Waukee, and Kyle's Bikes, for this site?
Before, Waukee band families currently had limited access to a local music store focused on school band instruments. within their community. We heard our Waukee customers' feedback that they enjoyed working with us, but enjoyed less the drive all the way to Ankeny. So, we decided to open a Waukee site allows us to provide more convenient access to rentals, repairs, and band supplies. Our goal is to cut the drive time while continuing to serve students with the same level of quality, reliability, and customer service as they would get in Ankeny.
By partnering with Kyle's Bikes, which has a great bicycle service, sales, and accessories offering at this location by the way, we're able to create a local presence quickly and efficiently while working with a business that shares our values of treating people with respect, friendliness, and honesty. Kyle's Bikes also has an Ankeny location right down the road from our main store.
Will Sleister Music be offering bicycles, and will Kyle's Bikes be fixing saxophones now?
It's a funny image, but don't fret- both companies are still in business, continuing to specialize in the things that we are specialists in. Only Sleister Music staff will be working on musical instruments, and only Kyle's Bikes will be working on bicycles.
